Founded in 2022, Pain Collective Community is a registered non-profit company (NPC) in South Africa.

Chronic pain affects 1 in 5 South Africans, yet fewer than 20% of people have access to private healthcare. This leaves millions without consistent, multidisciplinary pain care.

Pain Collective Community, exists to change that — by expanding access to evidence-based chronic pain support for all South Africans, regardless of means.

We have ambitious goals, but meaningful change requires collective effort. Your support helps us turn intention into action.

The Pain Collective Community has big dreams, but we need your help to fulfil our purpose. Your donations will help us:

1. Fuel our Pain Warrior Project.

Pain Warriors are individuals who live with chronic pain and have developed personal strategies to cope with its impact on daily life. Being a Pain Warrior does not mean ignoring pain or pushing through it at all costs. Instead, it reflects a commitment to self-care, adaptability, and learning how to live well despite ongoing health challenges.

Pain Warriors may draw on a wide range of personal coping approaches — such as pacing, movement, mindfulness, lifestyle adjustments, and emotional support — based on their own experiences and in consultation with their healthcare providers.

2. Your contribution can help towards giving access to multi-disciplinary treatment for those who have no access.

There is a severe shortage of access to multidisciplinary teams that treat chronic pain. Your contribution can increase this access.

3. Fund research projects

Pain Collective Community is setting up Public Private Partnerships to provide services to the public sector while generating evidence to further our understanding of which treatments work for pain.
