My practice focuses on developing practical skills that help individuals manage the impact of pain, illness, and disability on everyday functioning.
I work with people experiencing neurological, orthopaedic, persistent pain, and complex conditions, including CRPS, FND, ME/CFS, PNES, fibromyalgia, and mental health conditions where pain and functional difficulties may be significant.
Pain can influence movement, activity tolerance, concentration, emotions, behaviour, sleep, relationships, and participation in daily and occupational roles.
Therapy therefore focuses on understanding these interactions and developing an individualised set of strategies—the personal toolkit—to support effective functioning.
Intervention may include skills for pacing and energy management, activity regulation, graded exposure, movement confidence, sensory regulation, pain coping, fatigue management, stress regulation, cognitive strategies, routine development, and adapting meaningful activities and roles.
The goal is to develop practical skills that enable you to make informed choices about activity, manage fluctuations in symptoms, and increase participation in meaningful occupations.
Where pain or illness has resulted in discontinued activities or changed life roles, therapy focuses on identifying realistic adaptations and pathways for re-engagement. Ultimately, the goal is to build functional capacity, strengthen self-management skills, reclaim a sense of control, and support meaningful participation in everyday life.
