Dr Rudolph Hiemstra is an HPCSA-registered paediatrician. He completed his undergraduate and specialist training at Stellenbosch University and has over twenty years’ experience in private practice.

His clinical work includes an interest in children and adolescents with neurodiversity and persistent pain conditions. He is involved in the assessment and management of paediatric pain within a multidisciplinary care setting, recognising the importance of careful listening, communication, and collaboration with both patients and their families.

As part of the PAIN multidisciplinary team, Dr Hiemstra contributes to care that is tailored to the individual child or adolescent, with consideration of developmental, medical, and psychosocial factors, and in coordination with other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
