I'm happily married and a proud father of three teenagers. I grew up in Somerset West and attended school and university in Stellenbosch and Tygerberg. I'm a GP AND Anaesthesiologist, having completed my anaesthesia training in Port Elizabeth and Worcester. I'm also a specialist family physician and completed an MMed in Family Medicine through the University of Stellenbosch in 2014.
Since 2016, I have focused primarily on anesthesia. While in Canada, I received training in image-guided nerve blocks within the anesthesia field. I have a particular interest in chronic pain, as it is an area of significant suffering, often poorly understood and inadequately managed. Along with the technical precision of anesthesia, my Family Medicine training has grounded me in whole-person care.
I am, therefore, delighted to be part of The Pain Collective, where we practice state-of-the-art pain interventions with a multidisciplinary team approach and a focus on compassionate care.
